Description
At a glance, this Rolex British Ministry of Defense pocket watch will command a second stare for certain. The deep glossy black dial with gold gilt print is stunning with large radium lume numerals and original cathedral hands. The dial is original. The lume in the numerals was likely added by the officer who owned the watch – quite common. There is a (common) repair in the porcelain near 4:00 that is much less noticeable with the naked eye. This is a fairly large nickel pocket watch, measuring 49.5mm. The massive sub-second register is very easy to read. This watch has matching military numbers on both the case and dial. I love the large onion winding crown. The fine Rolex manual winding movement was just cleaned and is accurate. These watches are becoming very hard to find these days and are selling near the $3000 range in many cases.
