Here is an investment-grade rare ref. 1016 L-series Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer produced in the last year of its production (1989). This rare watch was (and still is) the most valuable and sought-after of all the Explorers and was selling for $10,000 recently! The case is shimmering with sharp edges. The like-new dial is bright white and matte black. The original hacking-seconds Rolex Oyster automatic movement is accurate. The owner did not use the Rolex Oyster bracelet and sold it to me. This was the last 1016 sold out of Toronto as stated by the Rolex dealer who sold the watch.
