Description
Look at this vintage 1959 Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref. 5508, no-crown-guard, James-Bond Submariner, which is completely original and ultra rare! This original dial is excellent overall with radium markers still present, as well as original hands and bezel. What makes this 5508 Submariner special, is the Submariner print being above the depth marking (“100m=330 ft.” in silver print). After researching thoroughly, I am unable to find this oddity in any reference book and we have them all! The words “Oyster Perpetual” are also silver while all other print is gold gilt. The original bezel is also quite rare, notice there are no minute markers! There are some bezel blemishes, but it is still very nice! The caliber 1560, chronometer-grade automatic winding movement was cleaned and overhauled recently, and is operating perfectly!
