1940s Hoverta Waterproof Watch

Description

This is an early attempt to produce a different type of waterproof case. This large, stainless steel early 1940s Hoverta is fastened with two screws, providing a more secure case seal. The curved steel case measures a wide 28.5x39mm and provides much wrist coverage. We love the original dial on this watch, being two-toned and evenly aged, it really catches the eye and exemplifies the look of a vintage watch from the early 1940s! Notice the red sweep seconds and Dauphine hands. The steel case is very uncommon to find being curved and having a wide bezel. The manual winding Swiss movement was just cleaned and is accurate. This watch exudes a great vintage look! Like all vintage watches – keep this away from water!
