1920s Rolex

Description

Here is an extremely rare oversized vintage Rolex that we believe dates to the mid-to-late 1920s! The massive snow-white case is signed RWC (Rolex Watch Co.) and of course is original. The case size is amongst the largest we’ve ever found in a 1920s Rolex, measuring 29.5×41.5mm, which will provide much wrist coverage! The lug-width is 20.5mm and retains the original and adjustable (unsigned) full-length bracelet, which appears to also be original to this watch. The bracelet quickly narrows to 12.5mm, as was the style of these 1920s bracelets. The case is hinged and enhanced with handcarved filigree sides. The dial is completely original and retains the original blued steel hands with some lume missing (certainly not affecting the overall look). Notice the large Arabic numerals on this dial! There is usual aging to this completely original two-tone dial. It really has a great vintage look for its age, I would never refinish it! This original and museum-quality vintage Rolex box is called the Moroccan. This box was handmade in the 1920s by Rolex and they are simply the rarest and most seldom-seen of all Rolex boxes! It was hand-etched and painted by artisans with a velvet insert and silk lining. This box came with this watch! We purchased this watch from an estate many years ago.
