This EXTREMELY RARE, vintage, all original and correct circa 1941 ROLEX AVIATORS watch named the "ROLEX HURRICANE" is named after the "Hawker Hurricane" fighter plane from WW2. This ROLEX was the smallest at 27.5mm. across, but also the RAREST of the WW2 series of ROLEX WATCHES made for the CANADIAN MARKET. The manual winding movement is signed ROLEX as is the case back. The all steel, original ROLEX case is quite interesting, and the only style of case found on these HURRICANE ROLEX watches and retains the original winding crown. Notice the solid section between the lugs; similar to the ROLEX bubbleback. The original silver dial on this watch with sub-seconds, red 24 hour register, Luminous Arabic numerals and original blued steel hands is completely correct and original. This dial is VERY clean in "real life". Our brightly lit pictures show up much more detail and accentuates the ageing that is really not visible with the naked eye. We keep one of these in our personal collection. My advice is-buy it while you can! We find one (only) once every 3 years and declining.
