This 27.5mm all original and correct, 1942 stainless steel OYSTER REGENT is one of the rarer OYSTER series of watches. Made by ROLEX for the Canadian market only; these watches were sold at PX military stores in WW2 to soldiers going overseas. The smaller case size made them less like to be damaged during battle. Being a cushion shaped, these watches look larger on the wrist than the round OYSTERS. The dials are interesting and complicated on these watches; this, having Arabic numerals, outer minute track,red 24 hour scale, along with sub-seconds. The blued steel, pencil hands are original. I love the original and suntanned aged dial-these are so desirable and hard to find! This watch retains the original oyster patent winding crown. The caliber 59 (correctly signed) ROLEX under the dial) was just cleaned and is accurate. Further adding to the military provenance of this OYSTER, is the ordinance numbers on the case rear inscription. These are very collectable WW2 military ROLEX watches.
