is an EXTREMELY clean and very RARE OMEGA SEAMASTER 200m.
dive watch from 1967...we call the "BANANA 200".
We keep two of these very rare OMEGAS in our "long hold"
collection at WatchesToBuy.com as we know these are very rare
and should increase in value. They dials ere also originally
printed in gray and in black dial configurations; with all
variations being quite uncommon. We see fewer of these than
the incredibly expensive OMEGA PLOPROF dive watch! French
military divers were known to wear these watches. We have
found these in the past "destroyed" because the
diver has forgotten to keep the screw-down crown fastened
tightly... further diminishing the supply of these OMEGAS.
The massive case measures 41mm. not including the crown, with
mineral glass (original) scratchless crystal. The original
case on this rare SEAMASTER 200 is pristine....shimmering
and scratch less as we have ever seen. The original screw-down
crown is also "like new". We installed an original
OMEGA buckle on a NON-OMEGA bracelet, because the bracelet
looks so spectacular! It is VERY hard to find these watches
with the original bracelet, so this vintage "replica"
(with original OMEGA buckle) really is nicer than leather.
The vibrant and original rotating bezel clicks one step at
a time and is in fine shape compared to the few others we
have found. This bezel is not available (new) from OMEGA any
more; and has not been for YEARS. We have seen these watches
with "destroyed" acrylic bezels. Finding a decent
bezel installed on an a SEAMASTR 200 of this vintage is DIFFICULT!
The NEW OMEGA FACTORY replacement dial and hands are quite
exotic with its' yellow middle and gray outer...wow! The caliber
565 was the only movement used in these OMEGAS...very robust
automatic having swan's neck regulation. This movement was
cleaned and is keeping time. If you are seeking an out of
the ordinary OMEGA that will surely escalate in price...this
is the one! $3895.
