This is considered the rarest and most sought after of ALL the HAMILTON ELECTRICS. Known as the "ALTAIR; it was produced in 1961 with an estimated production of only 1600 pieces. This watch is in very fine shape for its age. There is always a bit of twisting damage to the lugs where they connect to the case. The upper lug exhibits some twist damage. This is a well known fact amongst collectors who seek this watch and is documented in Rene Rondeau's HAMILTON ELECTRIC reference book. Speaking of RENE RONDEAU; this watch was fully serviced by him in April 2007. The caliber 505 HAMILTON ELECTRIC movement is quite accurate. The lower bracelet clasp is not fastened tightly.... so please don't rely on it to keep the watch on your wrist unless you decide the crimp it. We are not going to "crimp" it or touch it at all due to the rarity of this piece. My advice is; to put this watch in a safe and not wear it due to its' scarcity. The case is quite striking and modern in its' design; which was certainly far ahead of its' time. There is only minor wear on the rear highpoints of the buckle area of the bracelet. The case condition is stellar! It is uncommon to find these watches with their original and un-touched dial and hands such as this. Also, just finding the original bracelet on these watches is also EXTREMELY rare. This circa 1961 HAMILTON also retains its' original winding crown. This is simply the hardest of all the HAMILTON ELECTRICS to locate! Only $3995.
