The GLYCINE AIRMAN vintage PILOT's watch was used in Vietnam; popular amongst military servicemen and pilots everywhere in the 1960's due to the bold and easy to read 24 hour dial. These dials display both 24 hour time and conventional time at the same time! This example is an earlier 1950's version, very clean overall-all original, including the black dial with military hands (excellent condition) having the original bubble date crystal displaying early and rarer 1950's red date. The hands we re-lumed during a service at some time in the past-this is common an normal. The lower crown locks the rotating bezel. The entire case is good overall condition with no major dings. The automatic winding, signed GLYCINE FELSA 692 movement was recently cleaned and is keeping time very well. These watches are very hard to find-quite collectable, and uncommon in this all original condition. Please note; many are not aware, GLYCINE AIRMAN watches have a hacking seconds feature. When the crown is pulled out a hollow tube shoots up a microscopic wire at 12:00, stopping the second hand when it reaches 12:00. This hacking seconds feature is working perfectly.We have installed a NEW GLYCINE black leather, high qulaity band. Please also note: PARTS TO FIX SECOND STOP ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLEC AT FALCON-they sold out 2007. Due to the desirability of the GLYCINE AIRMAN, there are FAKES out there-we know the difference. Many are getting scammed with fakes on eBay! This is a prime all correct and original example of a 1950's GLYCINE Airman with hacking seconds. Please note: These Airmans are becoming VERY hard to find, as It seems collectors have harboured them, and fresh AIRMANS are NOT coming to market regularly. Clean models at this price may soon be unavailable
