This is a competitive sailor's watch known as the HEUER REGATE NEWPORT or "REGATTA" chronograph which provided the user with a count-down timer for a departure of their yacht within 5 minutes. The disc is turning by the second, each disk representing one out of five minutes. In this case, the dial indicates that there are approximatively 2 minutes 15 seconds to go before the boat should cross the starting line. The 37.5mm. screw back case is in very fine shape. The rotor, automatic winding movement is accurate. The striking and contrasting black dial is original and very fine. The bracelet and 40mm. steel case is original and only having hairline scratches. The screw-down winding crown (having crown guard) is original and signed. This is a prime and rare example for only $1495!
